How a run works
You have three lives. Launch the ball, keep it in play with the paddle, and clear every breakable brick to finish a level. Losing every ball on screen costs a life. Clear the sixth level and you see You Win — then the loop begins again from level one with a faster ball, keeping your score and whatever lives you have left.
The six levels
| # | Level | Bricks | What to expect |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Rows | 65 | Straight rows; a warm-up |
| 2 | Checker | 46 | Gaps let the ball get behind the pattern |
| 3 | Diamond | 41 | A centred shape; edge shots matter |
| 4 | Fortress | 73 | Adds 8 unbreakable blocks that deflect the ball |
| 5 | Smiley | 124 | The biggest field in the game |
| 6 | Bolt | 43 | Every brick takes two or three hits |
Bricks come in three strengths: one hit (50 points), two hits (80) and three hits (120). A hit that damages without breaking is worth 10.
Combos
Break a brick within 1.2 seconds of the previous break and your combo grows. Each step adds 10% to the value of the next break — a combo of 5 pays 1.4×, a combo of 11 pays double — and there is no cap. The counter appears on screen from three and resets when you lose a life or finish a level.
Power-ups
Every broken brick has a 22% chance to drop a capsule. Catch it with the paddle for its effect and 25 points.
| Power-up | Effect | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Wide | Paddle 50% wider | 10 s |
| Slow | Ball speed cut to 62% | 8 s |
| Laser | Press launch to fire twin beams upward | 8 s |
| Multi | Every ball splits into three, up to nine balls | Until lost |
Catching a power-up you already have restarts its timer rather than adding to it. Losing your last ball clears every active effect.
How it gets harder
The ball gets a little faster with every level and considerably faster with every loop, up to a hard cap. Slow is the only thing that brings it back down.
Strategy
Use the mouse or your finger
With a mouse or on touch, the paddle jumps straight to your pointer. With the keyboard it travels at a fixed speed, which cannot keep up with a fast ball on a later loop.
Aim with the edges
Where the ball meets the paddle sets its angle: dead centre sends it straight up, the very edge sends it off at about 60°. Steep edge shots get the ball behind the brick rows, where it bounces between the back wall and the bricks and chains breaks faster than the combo timer runs out.
Stack Multi and Laser for combos
More balls and a laser mean more breaks inside each 1.2-second window, and the multiplier keeps climbing. A long combo on level 5's 124 bricks is where the biggest scores come from.
Line up shots while paused
The paddle follows the mouse even while the game is paused. Pause, put the paddle exactly where you want it under the ball, and resume.
Guard the last ball
With several balls in play it is tempting to chase the one heading for a combo. Don't: losing the final ball costs a life and every power-up you were holding.
Good to know
- The launch angle is slightly random, so you cannot aim the very first shot.
- The game pauses when the window loses focus.
- Your best score is saved after every cleared level, not just at game over.
